I’m not going to lie to you guys, I really, really hoped Brigitte would pick me to be her photographer. Brigitte and I met while touring with a choir 3 years ago, and would occasionally perform together. We even got a chance to put a concert together where she very much outshone me with her grace, beauty, and truly angelic voice (hire her if you’re looking for a singer, just saying). Over the time we got to know her, she blew us away with her love of life, fun-loving personality, and optimistic self.

When her and Ryan got engaged I definitely thought about reaching out and asking to photograph her wedding, but she beat me to it! We felt soooo honored! So we flew to California to do their Engagement Photos (I haven’t put those up yet, shame on me because they are stunning), and that’s when we got to finally hang out with Ryan as well. He is perfect for her. No seriously, he is. Not only is he an extremely talented musician himself, his calm and loving nature is the perfect balance to her own. It was a joy to hear him talk about his passions, and opinions, and see them interact on camera and off.

Brigitte and Ryan met in grad school, and I’ll let them tell the rest of their story:

From Her: I walked into the room and immediately zeroed in on Ryan – everything else kind of blurred out. I walked straight over to him, and we had an instant connection. After that night, we found every excuse to spend time together, and I realized just how special he was to me. We’ve fallen more and more deeply in love every day since we met.

From Him: It was one of those slow-motion scenes in the movies where the girl walks in and the music gets louder and the talking stops. From the moment I saw her I said, “Her. I want to get to know her.” Fortunately, she had the guts to come over and talk to me first as I was just too shy. Then I gathered up the courage to ask her out, and was stubborn enough to not take no for an answer after our first night out together.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day to photograph these two. The sky was blue, the sun was out, but it wasn’t too hot. As we pulled into their venue, I fell head over heels in love with it too. The gentle hills and green EVERYWHERE! Having never been to Kentucky before, I had no idea it was this beautiful!

Their wedding day went off without any stumbles, and it ended all too soon. Between tearing up at their first dances, to listening to absolutely beautiful toasts, and just seeing them interact with their guests, family and friends, we had an incredible night with them. Thank you so, so much for picking us guys! We wouldn’t have missed it for the world ❤

Brigitte and Ryan, we miss you, but we cannot wait to see what else you do with your lives. We hope L.A. picks up on how awesome the both of you are, and that every single one of your dreams comes true. ❤
